Gary A. Perkins,
President, CEO
Gary A. Perkins is President & CEO of Children's Hospital & Medical Center. He has nearly 30 years experience in the healthcare field, many of them with regional healthcare systems. He is a Certified Healthcare Executive of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He joined Children's in 1981 as a Senior Vice President and has served as its Chief Executive Officer since 1985. He has previously held positions as Regional Administrator for Iowa and Missouri for Shared Service Systems in Omaha, Nebraska, and as Administrator of Shelby County Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan, Iowa.
Gary serves on a number of local and national boards including the Board of Directors of the National Association of Children's Hospitals as Chair of its Public Policies Committee, the Board of Directors of Child Health Investment Corporation, and is a past member and Chair of the Nebraska Hospital Association.
Gary is active in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Omaha, Downtown, and its Operation Hippocrates Committee, Board of the Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council, Board of Directors of Cooper Village and Board of Directors, Project Harmony.
Kathy English,
Executive VP, COO
Kathy English is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Children's Hospital & Medical Center. She received her bachelor of science degree in nursing and her master’s degree in nursing administration, both from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Kathy is a board member of the Center for Human Nutrition, March of Dimes, Women’s Fund and the Institute for Career Advancement Needs. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Nebraska Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Hospital Association's Council on Maternal Child Health. She was honored by ICAN in 2003 as a woman “Powered by Dreams.” Kathy is guardian to her niece Nicole, who is a freshman at Louisiana State University. She loves to golf and travel.
Michael J. Brown,
Senior VP, CFO
Michael J. Brown is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Children's Hospital & Medical Center. Prior to his current appointment, Michael served as the Vice President of Administrative and Regulatory Affairs for Children’s. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota. Michael is a certified public accountant and has held finance positions in healthcare and other industries, including treasurer for a publicly held company. Previously, he served as chief executive officer, chief operating officer and vice president of business development and managed care for healthcare organizations.
Michael is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past board member of the Nebraska Hospital Association.
