Bone Metabolic Clinic
The Bone Metabolic Clinic at Children's Hospital & Medical Center is the only center in the region that specializes in treating childhood diseases of the bone. There are many pediatric bone metabolic diseases, but some of the more common conditions we treat include rickets, particularly the more complex types, osteoporosis and osteogenesis imperfecta. While most of these diseases are not curable, with the proper treatment regimen, we can help your child manage the condition and significantly improve his or her quality of life.
Our staff includes a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals who are trained and experienced in the treatment and management of children with bone metabolic diseases. Led by medical director Richard Lutz, M.D., fellowship-trained in pediatric genetics, endocrinology and metabolism, the team also includes physical and occupational therapists, dietitians, nurses, nurse practitioners and radiology technologists.
Because of our experience and expertise in treating osteogenesis imperfecta, we have a dedicated clinic of health care professionals who specialize in this disease.
