Event Recorder
This is a portable EKG used to record the heart rhythm
during times of symptoms. Most of these recorders have a small computer device
that permits "memory" recording of the EKG before the device is activated. The
EKG is saved, and at a convenient time, you send the EKG by telephone to the
hospital. The recording is then printed on EKG paper and the cardiologist
reviews it. A cardiologist or nurse will call you with the results in one to two
days.
