Dr. Newring is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Nebraska. She provides individual, couples and family therapy with adolescents, adults and children. She enjoys working with youth struggling with the transition to adulthood, and with parents who are at their wits' end from struggling with their children.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Newring enjoys teaching in a number of different forms and settings. She has presented at national and international conferences on topics related to treatment effectiveness and acceptability. She has addressed groups of parents and professionals, and been interviewed on a live radio show on a variety of topics including adolescent depression, self-harm, stress management and ADHD. She also has co-authored several publications on the topic of functional analytic psychotherapy, a treatment modality that she has extensive experience providing.
Prior to joining Children's Behavioral Health in 2008, she finished her graduate and postgraduate work. Her training includes a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle; a predoctoral internship at the Boys Town site of the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Boys Town Behavioral Pediatrics and Family Services Clinic.
