Children’s Hospital and Medical Center maintains a variety of programs that are designed to enhance the specialized abilities and skills of individual employees, foster next-generation leaders and encourage personal growth through continual learning.

Tuition Reimbursement: Employees who pursue higher education are eligible for up to $2,500 tuition reimbursement each calendar year.

Paid Certifications:

Paid certification programs include but are not limited to:

  • Advanced certification for nurses
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse – CPN
  • Certified Nurse of the Operating Room – CNOR

We offer onsite learning to provide certifications in:

  • Basic Life Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Neonatal Advanced Life Support
  • Emergency Nurse Core Course
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course

Homecare Nurse Academy: The Homecare Nurse Academy provides a structured orientation experience that allows nurses with one year of nursing experience to transition into the pediatric home care environment. The evidence-based program is focused on recruiting and retaining quality professional nurses. Emphasis is given to role acquisition, clinical collaboration, knowledge of culture, and professional development. Read more

Nurse Residency Program: We welcome your interest in Children's Hospital & Medical Center’s Pediatric Nurse Residency Program. The mission of our 24-month program is to cultivate new graduate RNs from student to professional pediatric RN and to provide the new RN with specific knowledge, tools and experience needed to begin a successful career in pediatric nursing. Transition to Pediatric Nursing: The Transition to Pediatric Nursing Program: Adult to Pediatric Nursing program is tailored to nurses with a BSN who have worked a minimum of one year with the adult population. It is designed to teach you everything you need to know about becoming a pediatric nurse and ultimately culminates in eligibility for national certification as a pediatric nurse. Read more

Referral Bonus: Employees who refer applicants are eligible for up to $3,000 referral bonuses, with no limits!

Tuition Loan Repayment Program: Full-time employees who have completed at least six months of continuous service in qualified positions are eligible to receive up to $10,000 in student loan repayment over the course of five years.

Tuition Assistance: We offer tuition assistance up to $2,500 annually to help our employees achieve their educational and career goals.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness: Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) is a Federal Program that allows certain federal student loans to be forgiven after 10 years of on-time, qualifying monthly payments for employees of a not-for-profit organization.
